Tryout Policy

Wayzata Lacrosse Tryout Policies

Dates & Communication Specific tryout dates will be established and posted in the registration system before player registration opens.

Equipment Requirements Full, rule-compliant equipment is mandatory for all tryouts. For safety and compliance, players missing any required gear will not be permitted to participate.

Evaluation & Placement While tryout performance is a key factor in determining team placement, feedback from previous year's coaches and a player's overall engagement for that year may also be considered. All evaluator decisions are final, and no appeals will be permitted.

Attendance & Absences No additional tryouts will be offered outside of the published dates. Players who are unable to attend the scheduled tryouts will automatically be placed on a “B” level team, with strictly two exceptions:

  • Medical Excuse: Players with an illness or injury that prevents them from participating must provide a physician's note. They may request to be evaluated based on their past performance.
  • Wayzata Lacrosse Conflicts: Additional consideration may be given to players who have a direct scheduling conflict with another Wayzata Lacrosse event (e.g., a box lacrosse game that overlaps with field lacrosse tryouts).

Tryouts are not mandatory We encourage all players to attend tryouts, however they are not mandatory. Players missing tryout sessions will be placed on the "B" level team.

Note: No other exceptions to this attendance policy will be accommodated.
