Boys Equipment Requirements

Lacrosse is a fast moving and physically demanding sport.  Full field running is a necessary part of the game.  Proper stick and body checking are an integral part of lacrosse play.  Full equipment is required to play in all leagues. 

The following equipment is required:

• Lacrosse stick (crosse)
• Lacrosse helmet (no hockey helmets)
  NEW Guideline:
  • For parents who are buying new helmets, we are asking that you purchase "Athletic Gold" helmets with "White" visors.  
   
• Shoulder pads
• Arm/elbow pads
• Lacrosse gloves (hockey gloves are not recommended due to the rigid thumb)
• Colored mouth guard
• Protective cup
• Field cleats for grass, Plymouth dome and Minnetonka stadium (dome in winter); shoes with superior ankle support for the Eden Prairie dome (turf shoes or high top basketball shoes)

Additional Optional Equipment:

• Protective rib pads
• Protective chest pads
• Various add-ons for helmets: throat guards, padded chin straps, etc.
• Various other special padding necessary for goal tending
