WLA is a non-profit, volunteer-based association offering the young people of the Wayzata School District in grades 1 through 12 an opportunity to learn the fundamentals of lacrosse in a safe, respectful and fun environment.

Please note age levels have changed for 2016 per the US Lacrosse Athlete Development Model.  Starting in the fall of 2016, boys youth teams (8U-10U-12U-14U) will be participating their new age levels. In a the fall WLA offers an outdoor season in the Great Northern Lacrosse League starting in August and ending in late October.

WLA will offer a pre-season box lacrosse also through the Great Northern Lacrosse League, running from February through April, with games on the weekends.  Outdoor tryouts for A division teams and evaluations for B division teams will take place in mid to late March, with practices starting immediately after tryouts.  The outdoor season through GNLL runs from March to the end of June.  Practices are based on field availability, occurring 2-3 times a week.  In May, games will be played on the weekends with possible weeknight or weekend games starting the first week of June.  Games will be held in a double header format at the same field, which means less travel for families.  Teams will participate in a season ending tournament for GNLL teams.  Teams may choose to participate in additional tournaments for additional fees.

There are no planned activities for July and early August, however teams may choose to participate in later summer tournaments and may continue to practice until that time.
